Crafting Creative Connections: Welcoming My First Intern

In April, I decided to take a significant step forward and created my first job posting to hire a student intern or an individual with 1+ years of experience in content creation and design. I received over 60 applications from talented individuals across the country, each showcasing impressive experience and portfolios.

After a thorough interview process, I selected Tayla Hamilton, a current Bachelor of Design student at the University of Alberta. Throughout May, Tayla assisted me in building my Instagram page and content, utilizing her skillset and knowledge. I provided ongoing feedback and mentorship, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

I’m thrilled to have taken this step in hiring my first employee and developing my management skills. This experience has been invaluable in helping me grow as a content creator. My hope moving forward is to certainly do this again in a few months. Thank you very much, Tayla!
